The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently enacted a new regulation affecting contractors performing renovation work. “Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting Program” (RRP Rule) states that starting April 22, 2010, any renovation work (including painting) which disturbs painted surfaces in/on residential dwellings or child-occupied facilities built before 1978 must be performed by a person trained in lead-safe work practices, with specific responsibilities for a “Certified Renovator.” To become a Certified Renovator, a person must attend an 8-hour EPA-approved training course from an accredited trainer. Courses are offered monthly in Petoskey by the Little Traverse Association of Home Builders.

Common Sense Wisdom
There are three ways to get things done:
- Good
- Fast
- Cheap

If you want it good and fast, it won’t be cheap.
