Kent Strawderman, Gaylord
Kent has been involved in the building materials industry since college gaining enough experience to manage two yards for a downstate supplier prior to joining Preston Feather Building Centers. He earned a degree from Central Michigan University.
His primary responsibilities at Preston Feather Building Centers are window, door and millwork sales. “I help homeowners and builders meet their millwork needs with our large array of products.” Kent’s most important customer is, “The one I am talking to at the time. Every customer comes in with a specific need – it is my job to help them discover their needs and then meet them; closing the sale is a natural outcome of successful need fulfillment.”
He likes Preston Feather for their commitment to customer service and broad range of products to sell.
Kent and his wife have completed a home they have built for themselves and a menagerie of animals. When he’s not working he enjoys reading and gardening.

Peggy Moore, Petoskey
Peggy has been working in the Petoskey Showroom since 1999, “doing a little bit of everything.” As our newest member of the Sash & Door sales team, Peggy is eager to help our customers with their window and door selections. Peggy enjoys the possibility that each day will bring a new challenge.
Her past responsibiliites have included coordination of the Andersen truckload orders and the ordering of replacement parts for doors and windows. “Working with warranty and service means that there will be the challenge of finding an old part for a window or door. It’s a great feeling when you can locate a part for a customer who thought it was a lost cause because of the age of the unit.”
She grew up in Emmet County graduating from Alanson Littlefield and has recently earned an Associates Degree in Business Management from Davenport University. When she’s not working or studying, Peggy enjoys time with her husband and three children, scrapbooks and genealogy.
Betsy Carr, Petoskey
Betsy has been selling windows, doors, stair parts and related hardware since she joined Preston Feather Building Centers in 1994. Her goal is “never lose sight of the person at the other end of the project.”
Every day is different for Betsy; challenging and rewarding. She greatly enjoys seeing how excited homeowners get while making selections for their new home or remodeling project. Betsy enjoys working at Preston Feather because the staff is regarded as the most important business asset therefore allowing her to take care of daily tasks without being micromanaged. This allows the management team to concentrate on the long term health of the company.
When Betsy is not at Preston Feather Building Centers, she can be found volunteering at her church, playing golf, reading, working in her flower garden, hitting the beach or hitting the road on a motorcycle.

Cyndi Crysler, Traverse City
We welcomed Cyndi Crysler to our new Traverse City showroom in April. Cyndi is a graduate of Traverse City Senior High school, living in the area since she was two years old. She has many years in the building materials industry with experience in material sales along with window and door sales. As a member of our Traverse City team, Cyndi will be selling Andersen and Eagle window and door products. “I will be happy to consult with our customers and assist with various aspects of the building process.”
During her years in the industry, Cyndi has earned several certifications including Green Certified, and Andersen Certificates of completion for Customer Satisfaction, IQ Webinars, Product and Installation, Sales Skills, and Sustainable Building. Cyndi has recently completed a multi-day training experience at the Eagle Window factory. She brings a wealth of knowledge to Preston Feather, a place she describes as, “a strong company with great people that work here. I’m doing what I do best: selling windows and doors,” right here in Traverse City.
Spending time with her husband, two sons and the family Weimaraner keeps Cyndi busy when not at Preston Feather. Other leisure activities include gardening, camping, swimming and stained glass.
Mark Sicinski, Traverse City
Mark joined Preston Feather Building Centers with an extensive background in retail, carpentry and paint contracting. He says, “I do my best at trying to help customers make wise choices.”
Mark enjoys the great variety of people and places he encounters through Preston Feather while helping people through the sales process.
Mark’s list of non-work activities includes spending time with family and friends; hobbies range from fishing and hunting to watching hockey and baseball.
In addition to his degree from Western Michigan University, Mark has received an award he is quite proud of. He was elected by a group of his peers at an Eagle Window training session to receive the “Best Presenter, #1 Salesperson” award.

Judd Petro, Harbor Springs
Judd describes his role at Preston Feather Building Centers: “I work with home owners and contractors to decipher what sash and door products best suit their needs.” He feels very strongly that, “every order is just as important to me as it is to the customer.” Judd has worked in construction for about 10 years prior to his joining Preston Feather and attended both Michigan State and Ferris State Universities, earning a spot on the Dean’s List at Ferris. In addition to his degree in Construction Management, Judd holds a Michigan Builder’s License. What he likes about his job is helping people find and create a home that is theirs; what he likes about Preston Feather is the customer service oriented smaller company that cares about its customers. When Judd is not working at Harbor Springs, he’s working on building his own home.
Jeanie McMichael, Gaylord
Jeanie is a Window and Door Specialist at our Gaylord store, but describes herself as, “a Jeanie of all trades.” She’s usually one of the first to arrive at the store each morning and does one of the most important jobs: makes the coffee. In addition to that awesome responsibility, Jeanie assists with sash and door customers in the showroom, works with contractors, visits job sites to help measure for doors, windows and warranty issues.
Jeanie states, “Preston Feather is my life! They are honest and our customers are like family.” She enjoys doing blueprint takeoffs knowing Preston Feather has complete trust in her abilities.
When she’s not pouring over plans, Jeanie spends time with her four darling grandchildren, working on remodeling projects and tending to her farm. She has earned certificates from both Andersen Windows and Marvin Windows for completion of ongoing product training.
“I do my best, give my all, keep my chin up and smile. I want my smile to be heard even when you can’t’ see me!”
