CSI Components Groundbreaking

Gaylord Will Be New Home

CSI Components, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Preston Feather Building Centers, broke ground recently on a new facility in Gaylord. Preston Feather Building Centers acquired Drummond Island CSI Components last year with the intention of moving the business to the Lower Peninsula. The factory will produce wall panels for residential and commercial buildings. CSI Components will operate a state-of-the-art, paperless facility backed by excellent customer support, assuring an efficient and cost-effective construction project for builders.

On hand from CSI were Doug De Good, and Glenn Dobbs; from Preston Feather Tim Lancaster, Wes Kuipers, Shari Rivest, Theresa Olson and Greg Lee. The new 10,000 square foot facility is slated to be completed by late summer and will employ approximately 10 – 20 people.

Progress Continues in Petoskey

The new building material storage building in Petoskey is nearly finished. These two views of the building material storage building were taken several weeks apart. Top: setting the forms prior to pouring concrete; bottom: hanging doors on the upper level of the structure.

Over the past couple of weeks, material that had been moved to Harbor Springs for storage during construction has been slowly moved back to Petoskey and into the new building. The new two-story addition to the retail building is shaping up nicely too, and will soon be ready for use. Keep watching our progress and stay tuned for a celebration of the newly improved yard.
